I have to forward this to Vinny C of asvinnycsit because his comments always seem to remind me of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Not too funny, not too sentimental...but just right! In case you don't read his blog, I would suggest you do. There aren't that many blogs that manage to combine humor and honesty in perfect harmony the way he is able to do it, which is, again...just right.
The one requirement other than forwarding the award to your favorite commenter's is to answer the following question:
Do your witty answers pop instantly in your head when you read the post with an immediate urge to hit the comment button or do you have to sit and ponder?
For me, my comments pop immediately into my head as I read a post and the frequency of my comments are directly related to the quality of the posts. (The post is the fuel for the comment fire) I don't feel obligated to post a comment just for the sake of posting it. I do it because the post deserves to be commented on.
I'm guessing that's why I enjoy getting comments on my own posts, because naturally I assume everyone has the exact same thought processes I do. They do, don't they?
I have to admit that I do get a certain sense of satisfaction when a blogger responds to one of my comments. It's kind of like giving somebody some pot and they smoke a joint with you. Or, if you bring a friend a chocolate bar and they break off a piece to share with you. I use drugs and chocolate as examples to better illustrate my desire for bloggers to respond to comments whenever possible...I mean, come on...KICK already!
I love every comment I get and I respond to every one of them. It's easier for me than most since I don't really get that many.
And since I have been inspired by Nikki's generous award, I will start acknowledging them more regularly.
First Nikki then you. If master commenters like you guys keep telling me how clever I am I might actually start believing it. Once that monster gets let out of the box who knows what can happen. For now I'll try not to let it go to my head. Thank you as well.
ReplyDeleteWow...well said, I think. Not sure what else to say. I'm only commenting, well because you like comments. I have enjoyed reading your blogs and you have inspired me to put my words out there as well. I'm just trying to find the right words. Love reading your stuff, keep it up.
ReplyDelete@ Vinny...you are very clever, Mr. C. Even when your head is all stuffy.
ReplyDelete@ JM...I do love me some comments so, Thank You, Thank You Very Much (this is being said with a lip curl)
A comment keeps a blogger on fire as well. So it really works both ways! Congratulations on your award :)
ReplyDeleteI do really enjoy your comments to the point I started to recognize your ID out of a long list, since some popular blogs get them (a long list)
ReplyDeleteI've been back and forth a bit. Sometimes I feel really inspired to comment a lot more than writing my own blog. Lately I've written a bit more which is good but unexpectedly my comments dropped a notch in quality. I guess it's like all else in life.
Also thanks for the referrals. It is always fun to discover new blogs, I haven't come across any of the ones you mentioned, so I will check them out.
ReplyDeleteThat's excellent! Honestly I'd keep a blog just for the comments if nothing else - my readers always crack me up! I confess that I don't answer them per say, though - I generally just head over to their blog and see what they're writing about instead.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Unfortunately, I am too sick to think of anything witty here. :)
ReplyDeleteAwards for comments... gee what a stupid idea! Next we'll be seeing awards for funky ass avatars! Heyyyy, now THERE'S an idear! Ever wonder why people pronounce idea as if it had a "r" at the end? Kinda like the weird r that magically appears in the word wash but pronounced warsh.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Nari you deserve it! And I do say so myself...
Congrats! The comments you leave make me laugh and I admire that you take the time to do so.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I generally make time to respond to any I get, sometimes I don't. Not because I haven't enjoyed reading them, but it greatly depends on how I feel at the time (re your last post: me + Cancerian = moody b*tch at times. I blame the moon). Will make more effort and share the chocolate!
@ mice...My thoughts exactly and Thanks!
ReplyDelete@ Shopgirl...I'm glad you noticed me and appreciate the comments. Definitely check out the referrals.
@ tatty...I love to post, comment and respond. I also try to read as many of my commenters and followers blogs as I can and try to make a point to comment on them at least once a week, which si easier said than done, since I usually only go on-line Tuesday thru Friday.
@ Julianna...Thanks for making the effort and I hope you feel better soon.
@ Nikki...People will give awards out for anything these days. I am not sure who you are talking to that has such an affinity for the letter R but hey, to each his or heR own. Oh, and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
@ Bub...Thanks! Yours is one ofteh blogs in which it takes no effort whatsoever to comment on so thank you for the entertaining posts.
